Combining Tim Holtz class with Sketch #11...

I'm taking my first online class called Creative Chemistry 101 being taught by the incomparable Mr. Tim Holtz.  This technique, that we learned yesterday, is called Brushless Watercolor.  What a lovely effect!  I combined it with Sketch #11 from the Stars and Stripes Blog at OWH (thanks Kathryn for the suggestion, it works perfect).  Now it's time to head back to the classroom and see what's in store for today... :)

Our Daily Bread Challenge...

OMGosh!  Three days in a row on my blog.  Can you tell I've barely left my craft space all weekend?!!  And I won't tell you how UNseasonably wonderful it is outside because you may start lecturing... :)

The challenge was a tic-tac-toe game on the Star and Stripes Blog/ODBD Challenge.  I haven't learned yet how to put the link here, but I will... eventually.  Anyway, I chose the far right down colunm which is stripes, embossing and ribbon.  MY stripes are actually thin scraps of paper from my scrap pile adhered to a scrap piece of copy paper then cut down to size.  The ribbon I received in a swap and LOVED it!  I am so happy it won't be hanging around for the next decade waiting for a use... lol.

For the Christmas Challenge...

Taking a break from "Any Hero" cards... it's kinda refreshing to see red and green INSTEAD of red, white and blue.  I'm supposed to make five but I've only managed four tonight.  However, there are still 13 days left in March.  I'm still using Sketch #1 from the Stars and Stripes Blog over at OWH (hey, when I find something that works quickly, I tend to "go with it" for awhile).  The images and green paper are from a pad by K&Company called "Yuletide".  The red is called Ruby Slipper made by Bazzill...

Stars and Stamps Challenge...

There is a challenge going on with fellow card-makers at OWH to use ALL of the sketches that have been made (to date there are 112).  This is #1... gotta start somewhere!!  AND it's perfect for my mission to make one thousand "Any Hero" cards.  I could make LOTS of these in a relatively short amount of time... :)

The students come thru with flying colors...

My son Zack and I, led a campaign at Marblehead High School to have every student and faculty write a note to one of our troops stationed overseas. The resulting notes will be forwarded to Operation Write Home who will distribute them to Afghanistan, Iraq (still some people there), Kosovo, Japan, and anywhere else we have men and women protecting our freedoms.   The result has been mind blowing!!!  Of 955 students, we have received 561 notes... with many more to come back today.  We gave each student the blank note on the left, they wrote their message like the note in the middle and we will be coloring them in like the note on the right, adding a card front as well...

I am overwhelmed with the response!!!
