An old stand-by...

This is a technique I learned from my friend Barb (a phenomenal card-maker who makes cards for Cards 4 the Troops) when I visited her in California in October of 2010.

Some of the circles are punched from a magazine and some are punched from scrap paper... which I tend to have TOO much of.  Anyone who knows me, knows that scraps are my nemesis.  After punching, I arranged the circles on the page, taped them down and proceeded to sew them in place.  I've done many color combos since I learned this but I had never tried "blues and greens" until yesterday.  I love the result...

  1. This is lovely. I would absolutely CASE this but my 1960s Singer does not like sewing paper. :)

    1. I hear ya... I'm not sure MY machine likes it much either. Every once in awhile it does a major hiccup and sews sideways... pretty funny!

  2. This card is great Cindy! What a terrific way to use up scraps and I particularly like that it makes a perfect card for anyone... could be masculine or feminine, adults or kids... ideal for OWH cards. I just may have to see if I can dig out a very old sewing machine that is hiding somewhere and give this a try!

    1. I hadn't thought of that Paula, but you're right, could be for anyone. It does however, round my box off to 70 cards shipping out tomorrow for OWH. Woo hoo!!
