Another Craftsy class...

 So, I'm taking another class thru Craftsy taught by the incomparable Catherine Pooler called "WILD Cards: 21 Techniques with Favorite Supplies".  These two styles are from Lesson 1, Bold Stamping and Ink Techniques.  Amazingly simple and SOOO darn fun...

In her lesson, she was using solid circles, of which I have none.  BUT, I did have hearts and hey!  Valentine's is just around the corner!!  These hearts are using stamping off and rock 'n roll techniques.  The sentiment is a wood mount I've had for years and could quite possibly be the first time I've used it (hanging head... LOL).  It's by RubberSoul called The Love We Give...

 

Now, isn't THIS one freakin' adorable?!!  Same technique as above but masking off the area.  The little girl, I believe, is from My Favorite Things.  I colored her with a friend months ago.  The sentiment is another wood mount that I own by Hampton Art.  I was so pleased with how she came out... AND it's super great to be replenishing my much depleted stash!!



My Valentine to the Ernman...

Using the same layout idea as one of the cards in the previous post, I made this for the Ernman for Valentine's Day.  The set is from Inky Antics called "Delivery Benton".  I used my Copics to color him and added clear Wink of Stella to the roses.  I wish I had many, many other people to make this for (because I LOVE making multiples) but other than a loved one, my mind is coming up blank...



A late Valentine...

I made a card very similar to this and sent it to the Ernman in Ohio for Valentine's Day, knowing he'd get it the day before he came home to New Jersey for the weekend.  Boy, was I wrong!  I sent it on February 9th and he received it on February 20th... what's up with that?

I decided I'd make another six of these, intending to resend one to the Ernman if he didn't receive his by the 23rd.  However, he DID receive his so these will go in my next Operation Write Home box.   They can be a "Love" card for anytime, right?!!

Valentine...

February already?!!  Geesh...

 

I made four of these to send to all the grandbabies.  We have five, but with two sets of twins, only three addresses are needed.  The fourth is for that, "Holy crap!  I forgot..." moment!  :)

 

ALL papers were from my scraps... big YAY!  So, besides all the grandbabies (oh, and the Ernman who gets something extra special), who am I forgetting?

A true love card...

This is a CASE of one of my own creations.  I went out of my element when I made a Valentine's card for my Ernman this year.  I liked it so much that I decided to CASE it for OWH.  It is labor intensive but doing eight at a time made it very worthwhile...

 

Here are the steps I took:

1. Cut white paper to 5.25" x 4"
2. Using Paper Piercing guide and tool, make holes around rim of paper for future faux stitching
3. Spray Red Smooch Spray (this stuff is impossible for me.  I can never get more than one spray at time before I have to pull up the nozzle for the next spray.  I have a few colors, same problem.  I will never buy it again until I KNOW the manufacturer has fixed the problem)
4. Spray Dylusions Cherry Pie ink spray (no issues with this... yay!)
5. Spray Shimmer Smooch Spray (same problem as #3)
6. Adhere 3 types of washi tape to left and right side
7. Partial stamp Tim Holtz background stamp to bottom left corner
8. Stamp "I love you..." and arrow
9. Add die-cut flourish to washi on left
10. Add 3 die-cut hearts
11. With a black Sharpie pen connect holes made in step #2 around rim of card to create faux stitching.  All 130 holes.  How do I know there are 130 holes?  Because I found myself counting them around card #3...
12. Attach card to black 5.5" x 4.25" piece. 

And there you have it.  Something completely out of my element...

The first card is one I purchased in a "kit".  The second and third are my CAS of it.  Although they could be Valentine's cards, they serve their purpose with OWH as "Love" cards...
